Nuestro Primo, Flaco Goddard

A correspondent forwarded me an article that recently appeared in the Denver Post. Money quote:
Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, a Hispanic, said Latinos make up 30 percent of Arizona’s population but only 6 percent of the voting population.
Yeah, the definition for Hispanic has evidently been expanded to include lanky white guys.

Goddard on the Budget “Deal”

I woke up this way too early morning to the awful whine of what I think was a low flying plane over my neighborhood. Having no way to fall back asleep, I went online and found out what many of you know by now: the deal passed the House, but can’t pass the Senate. For [...]

Gordon Out, Again

Phil Gordon has told potential supporters and karmazyn that he will not be a candidate for governor next year.
Gordon’s name had resurfaced after Jim Pederson dropped out, leaving Terry Goddard skeptics with only the possibility of the mercurial Neil Giuliano as a way to express themselves (Heaven forbid that Valley of the Sun residents would [...]

Are the Sharks Circling?

I’m hearing Ken Bennett’s name as a possible candidate for governor next year. I asked if this meant that the thinking was that Jan Brewer wasn’t running. I was told that Bennett was running regardless of her plans.

I spoke with someone close to Jim Pederson’s operation, and he elaborated on the publicly stated reasons for him leaving the race. Pederson had already been acting [...]

To Spite Their Faces…

So, on Saturday I was talking to Terry Goddard and Bruce Babbitt. I bring this up because one benefit of this blog is it gives me the chance to name drop once in a while. Okay, more than once in a while. I mean, aren’t you impressed by all the important people I run with?
Anyhow, [...]

It’s a Gang of Four, but Without Jian Qing or Jon King

Just because I’ve been neglectful about the goings on in next year’s Democratic gubernatorial primary/bloodbath, I need to do one of those lazy, capsule posts with little or no useful perspective offered. Yeah, don’t I suck?
Jim Pederson – Over the last couple of weeks, Pederson and his cadre have been touting their website, Stand Up [...]
