Wherein I Catch the Yellow Sheet in a Mistake

This from a bit about Terry Goddard’s actions against Colorado City in yesterday’s Yellow Sheet. Italics mine:
Still, Goddard likely wouldn’t have time to push for disincorporation or pursue Colorado City prosecutions while he serves as AG. Nominating petitions to qualify for the ballot are due on May 26, and by filing Goddard will have effectively [...]

Us? Budget? Never Heard of It.

One of the little bits from La Cervecera’s State of the State Address that has gotten some folks talking was Jan Brewer’s non-introduction of State Treasurer Dean Martin and Attorney General Terry Goddard. It might not have been as remarked on except that the Governor made a point of looking at the two of them [...]

A Little Fight

After the jump is a campaign e-mail I got from Democratic Attorney General candidate Felecia Rotellini. What is nice about it is that she’s willing to call out Republican candidate for Attorney General Andrew Thomas. To be fair to the other two Democratic aspirants, Vince Rabago and David Lujan, their campaigns are still embryonic so [...]

What Was Weak Last Week

Our legislature concluded their not-especially-special session on Saturday. They made $8 million in cuts in the Attorney General’s office but no cuts in either the Secretary of State’s office or the Treasurer’s office.
I know, I know. It just so happens that the Attorney General’s office is the only state constitutional office run by a Democrat. [...]

And We Have a Winner…

So, Mo Udall was able to do something in the World Cup of Arizona Politics that he wasn’t able to do in any of the 1976 Presidential Primaries or with the Denver Nuggets…come in first place.
Your winners are…
Gold Medal – Mo Udall (D – Tucson)
Silver Medal – Terry Goddard (D – Phoenix)

Two Men, One Cup

Okay, it took me a bit longer to set up the final in the World Cup of Arizona Politics than it did the earlier rounds. This was done to give the participants time to rest up before the last match.
We are down to Mo Udall and Terry Goddard in the final. Gabrielle Giffords is up [...]

Semi Finals

The semi-finals have been set in the World Cup of Arizona Politics. In one match it’s Mo Udall versus Gabrielle Giffords, and in the other it’s Terry Goddard against Isabella Greenway. Greenway came out ahead after a seesaw battle with the last Republican in the competition, Barry Goldwater.
As usual, you can vote at the semi-finals [...]

WCAP Update

Afghanistan? Tiger Woods? Don Stapely? Never mind that, what is going on in the World Cup of Arizona Politics?
It appears that Mo Udall and Terry Goddard are running away in their groups, with others fighting for a distant second. If there is a “Group of Death,” it would be Group 2, where John McCain managed [...]

Check Your Calendars, Boys

John Munger quoted in the Arizona Daily Star, regarding gender discrimination at Tucson Country Club:
In my opinion, Terry Goddard should butt out. This is not a public accommodation — it is a private club.
Of course, Woolworth lunch counters, hotels and Pullman cars weren’t “public accommodations” either.

Bruce King Award Nominee

La Cervecera on Terry Goddard, as quoted in the Arizona Daily Star:
It’s easy to be a Saturday night quarterback.
I realize I spend my sports-watching hours following the other kind of football, but isn’t the phrase “Monday Morning Quarterback”? I mean, teams play on Saturday nights, right?
