Star Criticizes Brewer, Praises Her

Why I get frustrated:
The Star ran an editorial that at first was critical of Jan Brewer’s debate performance, but immediately hedges in their sub-headline by saying that Terry Goddard disappointed too. Heaven forbid we criticize the Republican for turning in a performance that adds to our stream of nationally known political embarassments. Brewer’s stumbles [...]

Drawback

With everyone poking fun at La Cervecera for her stumbling opening statement and her comedic dodges about “headless bodies,” no one seems to have noticed the biggest lies she told: the claims that she balanced the budget and she’s saved our economy.
The big irony is that she at the same time claims that Terry Goddard [...]

And to Answer the Governor’s Question…

Yes, Terry Goddard has a jobs plan. Of course, it is quite a bit longer than your average slogan or soundbite, so if that is what La Cervecera is looking for, she won’t be happy.

Gratuitous Soccer Reference

Terry Goddard and La Cervecera are scheduled to debate tomorrow at seven o’clock. This has led to the cancellation of my district club meeting thus delaying my having to show up with my tail between my legs as a primary loser for another month.
My first thought about the debate scheduling was, “Hey, how can they [...]

Glass Houses and So Forth

One of the dangers of oh-so-clever snark is when it can be thrown back at you. Paul Gosar is finding this out in his race against Ann Kirkpatrick.
Gosar’s new attack is “Where Is Ann Kirkpatrick?” He’s alleging, of course, that Kirkpatrick is MIA. Kirkpatrick’s people put out a press release this morning detailing public events [...]

Where’s Jan?

Terry Goddard has a new YouTube clip detailing the various public and press appearances ducked by La Cervecera. This is a strategy pioneered by Sarah Palin in 2008 it was largely successful, so now any candidate who is uncomfortable answering questions is doing it (Check out Rand Paul, Meg Whitman and Sharron Angle this year). [...]

Wherein I Catch the Yellow Sheet in a Mistake

This from a bit about Terry Goddard’s actions against Colorado City in yesterday’s Yellow Sheet. Italics mine:
Still, Goddard likely wouldn’t have time to push for disincorporation or pursue Colorado City prosecutions while he serves as AG. Nominating petitions to qualify for the ballot are due on May 26, and by filing Goddard will have effectively [...]

Us? Budget? Never Heard of It.

One of the little bits from La Cervecera’s State of the State Address that has gotten some folks talking was Jan Brewer’s non-introduction of State Treasurer Dean Martin and Attorney General Terry Goddard. It might not have been as remarked on except that the Governor made a point of looking at the two of them [...]

A Little Fight

After the jump is a campaign e-mail I got from Democratic Attorney General candidate Felecia Rotellini. What is nice about it is that she’s willing to call out Republican candidate for Attorney General Andrew Thomas. To be fair to the other two Democratic aspirants, Vince Rabago and David Lujan, their campaigns are still embryonic so [...]

What Was Weak Last Week

Our legislature concluded their not-especially-special session on Saturday. They made $8 million in cuts in the Attorney General’s office but no cuts in either the Secretary of State’s office or the Treasurer’s office.
I know, I know. It just so happens that the Attorney General’s office is the only state constitutional office run by a Democrat. [...]
