A group called Conservatives for Congress is running ads against both Gabrielle Giffords and Raúl Grijalva. The committee consists of local car dealer Steve Christy and other Republican contributors and activists. Because of their committee status, there is no filing with the FEC to disclose their contributors or disbursements.

A house that I pass just about every day featured two Jonathan Paton signs and one Ruth McLung sign. Yesterday, I saw the owner of the house take down the Paton signs.
This morning I saw that the Paton signs were replaced not with Jesse Kelly signs, but with McLung signs.
The Daily Star had a story this morning that former Rep. Jim Kolbe will be chairing Andre Cherny’s campaign for state treasurer.
Keep in mind that Kolbe is the only Republican that has represented Southern Arizona in the US House. In 2006, he all but publicly snubbed Randy Graf, and in 2008 he dropped his support [...]

I got a press release from Jesse Kelly (who, along with the other Three Mesquiteers, is still running for congress). In it, Kelly calls Jonathan Paton’s call for Gabrielle Giffords to end earmarks a “stunt.”

I got word that Brian Miller, who has been regarded as an also ran in the CD-8 race, will have a fundraiser hosted by none other than Lute Olson. Strange, since Lute is for all intents and purposes an “establishment Republican” (his ex-wife is a Republican National Committee Woman for Pennsylvania) but odds on favorite [...]
