I have no earthly idea if the sales tax will pass the House. I doubt there are votes in the Republican caucus to pass it, and Democratic leadership is less than enthusiastic about the bill.

It’s hard to say that the Governor and legislative leadership thought that a “deal” had been struck, since anything that they had seemed to be based a combination of wishful thinking, strange assumptions and a misunderstanding of the Arabic number system. It seems that the notion of a special session is falling apart. The strategy of allowing cuts to go through with the vague promise of a special session later to handle revenue (a tactic either inspired by J.
