I could do a detailed post about what I liked and didn’t about last night’s speech, but the best response comes from one of Andrew Sullivan’s readers:

Laurie Roberts had a piece on the Republic’s website with the headline that screamed “Dems Smear Paton with B Word.”
Hmm. The “B” word? What was this horrible accusation that Democrats “smeared” Paton with? “Smear” usually denotes something horrible…what was this “smear”? Battery? Bipolar? Beastiality?
Nope…it’s “Bush.”
Yep, this “smear” that Roberts is refering to is a state [...]
John McCain issued a gracious statement on Barack Obama’s receipt of the Nobel Peace Prize:
I congratulate President Obama on receiving this prestigious award. I join my fellow Americans in expressing pride in our president on this occasion.
As much as I am enjoying the grand mal seizures that this has already inspired on the right, it does seem to be a bit premature doesn’t it?
There was a lot made of Trent Franks calling Barack Obama an “enemy of humanity” in the liberal blogosphere. But, that doesn’t worry me nearly as much as both of our Senators saber rattling and calling for “regime change” in Iran (here and here).

I have been perplexed by the current war by the right against “Czars.” The word is an invention of convienience by commentators, and has no official usage in our government, but so what? Let’s allege that in addition to being a socialist and fascist, Barack Obama is also a monarchist.
