No Man Escapes the Manhunter!

I read today that Barack Obama has secured the endorsement of Paul Kirk. The reports all say that Kirk was a former chairman of the Democratic Party. Of course, long time readers of DC Comics know that Kirk was The Manhunter. The cover-up of this is further evidence of the MSM Conspiracy.
No word yet on the […]

The Last Thing I’ll Say About Delegate Strikes

I was talking to a Barack Obama booster the other day, and he noted that if he had been struck as a Hillary Clinton delegate, he’d be ticked off given how many folks who got left on their list couldn’t be bothered to actually show up to run.
I was taken aback by a couple of names they […]

More Unsolicited Advice

The other day, I gave y’all the gory details of the arguments given to the Bond Committee in defense of Rillito Downs Racetrack as a case study in how not to make a decent argument.
Here’s another one from Saturday’s State Party Meeting in Phoenix. The lesson: have a vague idea who the heck you are […]

LSMFT

There were two hububs at yesterday’s State Democratic Convention. One was over a definition of who actually could vote on national convention delegates. Chairman Don Bivens explained the situation and it seemed to be resolved. The worry was that the statewide delegates would not be seated due to a technicality. Now, the DNC wouldn’t do that, would they?
The […]

How to Earn My Vote

My vote for Vice Chair is obviously committed. But, my vote for the various delegates at today’s meeting is still up for grabs.
My vote will go to whoever works the phrase “$240 worth of pudding” into their stump speech.

Last Night’s Debate

I had more important things to do last night than watch the debate. I did, however catch the so-called highlights. Those of you who watched it: can you tell me if the two of them were asked any questions about, you know, substantive issues? I even caught an exchange about flag pins…
UPDATE: I caught this […]

He’s Got That Right…

Josh Marshall on the “bitter” kerfluffle:
This has been one of the more comedic aspects of this 72 hours — watching a cavalcade of extremely wealthy pundits, editorialists and political operatives from New York and Washington tell me how rural Americans won’t stand for this.

But At Least He Looked Good in Those Shoes

Barack Obama went bowling, yes bowling, with Senator Bob Casey. Ah, the things we will do when we are running behind in the Pennsylvania primary.
It looks like he got several gutter balls. As a Polish-American with family in the area, I have to say I am deeply, deeply disappointed, even offended.

And While We Are At It…

I’d like to inform the folks who keep pushing for this “Super Delegate Caucus” that we actually already have one. It will be held in Denver this August and the votes will be binding. Maybe y’all have heard of it?
I was going to avoid writing about this thing, but the idea seems to keep getting […]

Yeah, I Remember That Cartoon. I Still Don’t Get Why the Orangutan Talked Like Edward G. Robinson, Though…

I’m hearing various theories about John McCain’s coattails here in Arizona. I’m not buying that he’ll have much of them. Even Barry Goldwater’s candidacy didn’t produce much in the way of coattails here (even though it did in the South). His friend Richard Kleindienst lost to Democrat Sam Goddard for Governor at the same time […]

Yes, But Did He Head Butt Obama?

Okay, we’ve all heard the news that Bill Richardson has endorsed Barack Obama. I suppose that stories of Obama losing massive support among the superdelegates are a bit overplayed.
A bit of Kremlinology: I think if Richardson shaves his newly minted beard close to convention time, it mean’s he’s the veep.

Strange Visitor From Another Planet…

The keen among you have no doubt noticed that I have added a new blog to the blogroll, Mr. Super. This blog is anonymously written by a so far uncommitted super delegate. I am sworn to secrecy about who it is, but given that he has a “Mr.” in front of his name, y’all have […]

You Know, I Noticed We Never Elected Any Chapman Stick Players Either

From Ken Layne of Wonkette:
Do you know how many presidents were elected after criticizing Sinbad? Zero, that’s how many.

An Outlaw Hunting Outlaws…

I caught this article from Bloomberg this morning, and I picked up two interesting facts.
Barack Obama’s Secret Service codename is “Renegade” and Hillary Clinton’s is “Evergreen.”
Obama is of course named for the mid-90’s television program Renegade, staring Lorenzo Lamas.

Veep-Stakes!

Hillary Clinton and her supporters have been touting Barack Obama as her second. This makes some snicker given that Obama is ahead of her right now so the vice presidency isn’t exactly hers to give.
I’m thinking that it would be really bold for Mike Gravel to offer them both cabinet slots if they drop out […]

Who Is Writing These Slogans, Peter Cannon?

So, first Barack Obama uses “Yes We Can!” as a cheer at rallies. Tonight, Hillary Clinton’s chant was “Yes We Will!”
I suppose this is some way to convey her experience or something.
Oddly enough, I was at a gathering of Young Democrats when Clinton’s speech was broadcast. They had the closed captioning on. The chant ended […]

Seven More Freakin’ Weeks?

I hope that, at the very least, the term “Texas Two Step” will be excised from our political commentary for a while.

You’ve Got to Have a Fiddle In the Band

So, let’s say the commissioner of baseball pitches a game, thinks he’s about to strike out the batter, only to discover that the foul the batter hit that should have been his third strike doesn’t count? I think we’d all say, dude, that has been a rule since the 1890’s, you ought to know the […]

The Snark I Am Famous For

I saw a rally on the teevee today where Bill Clinton was speaking. Standing behind him, and presumably also speaking at the rally, was Dolores Huerta.
So, did Bill ask Jonathan Paton if that was okay?

Little Rhody

A spot of good news for Hillary Clinton: in the last couple of days she closed the gap with Barack Obama in Rhode Island and is now ahead of him in at least one poll.
My question is this: if Rhode Island is Clinton’s only victory on Tuesday (a possibility), how does Mark Penn spin this as the […]
