Because He Realized It Would Be Silly to Say They Hate Him for Being Latino

Here’s a bit of a follow up to the piece I did on the campaign against Robert Meza. Apparently, some political reporters have been snooping around about the tale too, and Meza has been telling them that the DREAMers have been campaigning against him out of homophobia.

Yep. It is because there is nothing in Meza’s record that would lead them to campaign against him for any other reason.

The sad part is that, these days, Robert would never dream of calling out a Republican for racism or homophobia. He doesn’t think twice about accusing members of his own party of imagined bigotry in the name of self-preservation, however.

Full disclosure: I’m working with Jonathan Larkin and Raquel Teran.
Ok…now with that out of the way, I am absolutely horrified that Mr.Snitz is continuing to attack Jonathan for not having a college degree and having a learning disability. He did that while trying to secure a union endorsement …he didn’t get it. And just recently at the Arizona Republic’s editorial board meeting.
While Jonathan was off fighting in a war, lord knows what Mr. Snitz was doing.
As for his blatant discriminatory statements about those of us with learning disabilities, I’d like Mr. Snitz to know that there are those of us with undergraduate and graduate degrees who can only shake our heads at his ignorance.

  3. Thanks for the disclosure, Bob. And, for making a valid point very well. (Well, except for the “lord knows…” snipe.)

    Mitch,
Sorry about the “snipe”…couldn’t help it. I’ve been dealing with folks who don’t understand disabilities for more than 40 years and sometimes keeping myself buttoned up is difficult. But thanks for the head’s up.
