Knowing Your Audience

One of my parents’ neighbors got a call from the Rick Santorum campaign. Kind of a waste of time, since she’s a Democrat.

But what makes things worse is that the caller implored her to vote for Santorum because he’s a good Christian and all good Christians need to vote for Santorum.

The woman being called was Jewish. Her last name would have been a big clue for that.

It’s called targeting, folks. Of course, if you don’t acknowledge that there are other legitimate religious points of view, it tends to keep you from understanding why everyone wouldn’t be receptive to this sort of message.

And another thing about Santorum: so, we are supposed to believe that Barack Obama is a “snob” for wanting the children of working class people to be able to get an education? I’ll tell you what snobbery is: a guy who made $3.6 million last year suggesting that folks lower down on the ladder shouldn’t expect anything better for their kids.

But if they don’t keep ‘em stupid and (in the case of half of ‘em) pregnant and barefoot, where are they going to get enough Republican voters?

Require Country Club membership cards to vote?

So it is perfectly okay to “target” people and to post about “targeting” people, some time ago it was all but a crime to mention or use the word targeting in regards to people… I guess Gabrielle Giffords hasn’t been in the news enough for you, or maybe it’s the double standard that you play by.

So let me get this straight, Sheriff Joe can’t target people and neither can Sarah Palin… Okay, I think I understand the rules…

I don’t know of anyone that is calling Berry a “snob”, I would call him the antithesis of the US Constitution though. Forcing someone to do something against their religion is not an American ideal.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out –
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out –
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out –
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.

  3. I got one too. Radical Democrat. Confirmed atheist. Not an asshat. And he still thinks it might help to call me :)

    Who-

The trouble wasn’t the use of the word “target,” but the cross hairs and the constant gun imagery from both Palin and Jesse Kelly. Nice of you to quote Niemöller though.
