Keepin’ It Classy: Bruce Ash Lies About a Dead Woman

Republican National Committeeman Bruce Ash used Monday’s edition of Buckmaster to make an unfounded attack on the reputation of Judy Burns, the recently deceased member of the Tucson Unified School District board.

Allegations like that are a lot easier to issue when the person involved can’t say anything about it, eh?

Kudos to Paul Eckerstrom for offering up a defense, hard to do when the charge comes out of nowhere. David Morales called into the show to stand up for Burns and posted the segment on his blog.

  1. The thing I don’t get about Ash is why he’s permitted to continue as a mouthpiece for all things GOP in Southern Arizona. I understand that his father’s property development empire is a major source of Republican cash. But he’s so poorly skilled at political messaging, he seems to actually be doing more harm to the party than good whenever he does his own advertisements and/or media appearances.

  2. I guess he’s afraid to take on Adelita or Miguel. Only Judy is fair game to him. Disappointing at best, disgusting at worst.

  3. Oh, the horror!! An unfounded attack on someone… like the hatchet job you did regarding John McCain’s statements about wild fires in Arizona??

Where is the retraction… Oh, I forgot, you are not a journalist and don’t make retractions when you are wrong… Oh, I forgot, you are never wrong in your mind… 39% seems pretty significant to me…

The study determined that 30 out of 77 wildfires investigated by federal officials along the Arizona-Mexico border between 2006 and 2010 were caused by illegal border crossers.

The kettle looks black to me…

Michael W Simpson: pastiche??? April 20 at

  5. Who-

John McCain made those comments while touring the Wallow Fire, he wanted people to come to the conclusion that it had been set by illegal crossers, and the discussion afterwards went that direction.

  6. Re: Whocares’ comment, does he know what ad hominem means?

Re: the rest, I’m sure enough folks know what Facebook stalking means. (Too bad you can’t adjust your privacy settings to exclude bigots.)

(P.S. as long as we’re already talking about it, can someone—Bruce, perhaps—explain Michael W Simpson’s comment of “pastiche???” It seems misplaced, as though he entered the conversation by accident. Was he talking about the restaurant?)
