Quick Take on the Republican Debate

So, Jon Huntsman wants us to think he’s hip because he name checked a twenty year old Nirvana song, but he’s not hip enough to get the name of the song right.

I just think it is funny that you Dem bloggers guys talk about the national stuff when it makes you guys look good. Everything you post is totally one-sided, which of course is your right – your blog after all, but nothing when things don’t go your way.

    Tedski,
With your intelligence level you have to be rethinking your political views. I know you are not a socialist. I also know that you are not dumb. Do your positions actually help anyone; in the short term or the long term? The same policy has been tried over and over and you have no success stories. Multiculturalism has been an astounding failure all across Europe. Nationalized healthcare is a failure everywhere, and most countries that have it are considering or are actually implementing more private sector control. After decades of giving the poor day-to-day help instead of incentivising self-accountability and self-reliance has resulted in generations of the same poor families living in public housing, living off the government, etc. Unchecked illegal immigration has resulted in a two-class system which keeps one group living in continual fear and living as an under-class. Lowering school standards to the lowest common denominator and where everyone gets a gold star has resulted in an entire generation of people who don’t have any critical analysis skills.

Your party, my former party, has been hijacked by the socialists and super lefties. BHO doesn’t represent the Democratic Party that I belonged to and I doubt he represents the party that you belong to.

    Dear raging douchenozzle,

Mr. Prezelski self-identifies as a Catholic Polish-Mexican. You might want to think about that before spewing bile about the evils of multiculturalism at him.

You might want to consider the definition and context of Multiculturalism as used. Multiculturalism, as I used it, is defined as, the doctrine that several different cultures (rather than one national culture) can coexist peacefully and equitably in a single country.

I would argue that Tedski represents an intigrated American; he doesn’t speak Polish or Mexican-Spanish as his primary language and doesn’t consider himself either a Pole or Mexican, but considers himself an American. Tedski represents the melting pot that is America.

Multiculturalism in Europe (my original context) has proven to be a failure. Several different, separate, non-integrated, cultures can not exist in one country, doing so fails to provide the sense of belonging and a sense of society. In the past, in the USA, the full integration of immigrants was promoted and encouraged. Today, certain political bodies support the idea of Multiculturalism which isolates that segment of the population, and promotes racism and other forms of hate. Teaching students La Raza based courses is good example of how liberals support Multiculturalism here in the USA. Multiculturalism does nothing to help promote the unity of our great society, and does everything to keep us separated, and to keep one ethnic group as a permanent underclass.

Throwing away your heritage is not something that should ever be encouraged and that is what you are encouraging Who Cares.

Also, I noticed that in the year prior to the 2010 elections the Dems took all the seats and then lost in 2010. So the loss in 2011 may not mean what you think it means.

BTW, when you call someone names in the beginning of your post, it expands the level of perceived stupidity from the entire post.

I would suggest in the future, that you actually consider the facts and use common sense, rational thought, and objectivity before you post more nonsense that you don’t understand, are to lazy to research, and to obtuse to understand.

    Appleblossom,
You are in correct! I am very proud of my Irish and Swedish heritage; however, I am an American first. I am not advocating for anything, accept for equality. I would encourage you to Google Multiculturalism in Europe. That is not a road I wish to go down here in the US. We don’t need a permanent underclass here (by anyone’s viewpoint).

And before you spray a squidcloud of butthurt at me, I’d like to point out that I’m not being bigoted, just politically incorrect.

I know there have recently been a number of articles and blog posts among right-leaning publications about the failure of multiculturalism in Europe, with these articles and posts apparently prompted by recent remarks on this by both Angela Merkel, David Cameron and Nikolas Sarkozy, and I assume this spate of recent literature is why Whocares is bringing the topic up.

Just because the claims have been made doesn’t make them true, however. Each had political reasons to push this position, regardless as to whether there was fundamental truth to it or not.

Whocares will likely argue the point, since none of the three leaders explicitly stated it this way, but the context of their respective comments certainly gives the impression they are not concerned about the influence of other cultures generally, but rather of Muslims specifically … and yet, their claims seem unsupported by research indicates a significantly greater (Britain, Germany) or, at least, comparable (France) percentage of Muslims living in each country identified strongly as citizens of their nation of residence than the percentage of non-Muslims who did.

Further, Whocares bald claim “Several different, separate, non-integrated, cultures can not exist in one country, doing so fails to provide the sense of belonging and a sense of society” seems false given the seeming success of Australia and Canada, to name several prominent examples. If there really are fundamental issues in Europe (having grown up in Germany, I firmly contend Merkel’s comments are completely overblown, and Cameron’s seem to be as well, but I’ll grant France does appear to have some legitimate issues on this front), then these counter-examples would seem to indicate the underlying problem may not be so much multiculturalism itself, but rather the European approach to it.
