Quick Take

If Eric Cantor thinks that Anthony Weiner should resign because of sexually explicit internet posts, what about Ben Quayle?

Refresh my memory, what did Ben Quayle do while actively serving as a US Rep? Did he send anyone x-rated photos? Did he violate the Rules of the House of Representatives? The current evidence would show that Weiner did… but then again the Democrats get to play under a different set of rules than the Republicans… Of course Charlie Rangel is still in office..

Lets look at the House Rules:

The House Ethics Manual for the 110th Congress states as follows:

Members, officers, and employees of the House should:
    Conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects creditably on the House;
Abide by the spirit as well as the letter of the House rules; and
Adhere to the broad ethical standards expressed in the Code of Ethics for Government Service.

They should not in any way use their office for private gain. Nor should they attempt to circumvent any House rule or standard of conduct.

Brief Summary of Weiner’s Ethics Issues:
As to the first standard, Weiner has clearly violated his responsibility to act at all times in a manner that reflects creditably on the House. There can be no credible argument to the contrary. Will anyone ever be able to say his name again without a snicker? Oh wait, that’s how he started in politics — and how he used the press in trying to explain away the fascination with his name and his package. Nevertheless, he loses this one.
He has violated both the letter and the spirit of the House rules, regardless of whether any laws were broken. Boners in briefs and pics of pecs (in front of a photo gallery that includes photos of you and your wife and you and former President Clinton, no less) aren’t just bad form. They discredit the institution you are charged with honoring and protecting.
Lying always bring discredit to the institution you are part of. You could argue that this was Anthony Weiner’s private life and should be handled as such. But Weiner took to making his private life public the minute he opened a twitter account and began using social media to connect with supporters.

Brock Landers saving grace (and I use that term loosely) might be that he wrote his misogynistic rants before he got to Congress. It wasn’t until after he got to Congress that he voted for misogynistic bills.

I didn’t think or expect any other words from you on this Tedski… You attack Ben Quayle in convenience, but what about Weiner and Rangel?

No morals and no scruples… just snark…

James Traficant was my favorite Democrat – Beam me up Scotty!

You complain about lack of ethics, and then cite James Traficant?

Wow. And you wonder why I don’t bother seriously engaging you.

LOL, once again you avoid the actual topic. Did you see that Brietbart leaked the Weiner wiener photo today?

I again ask you; what about Ben Quayle? and how does anything that he purportedly did compare to Weiner’s weiner?

BTW, James Traficant was one of yours…
