Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu is making much of his call for Barack Obama to stop all political fundraising activities until he fixes the border. I know this because Babeu’s demand is detailed in a political fundraising e-mail I recieved from him today.
This from his e-mail:
I have been targeted with death threats from these cartels and now I have to defend myself against the ACLU and our own federal government in court. What is happening to America? I am asking for your help so that I can continue to fight against the partisan Democrats and my aggressive defense of Arizona and the rule of law.
Of course, this money he’s raising will not go into protecting him from the cartels or a legal defense against the ACLU and the feds, but for his re-election bid two years away.
Wow. Just what Arizona needs. Another publicity hungry sheriff feathering his political nest.

He’s in the same media market as Sheriff Arpaio, so it shouldn’t take long for them to start having a public feud.
