Quick Take

The silliness coming from the right about Amanda Simpson’s appointment make me wonder just how qualified a “minority” person has to be before these guys won’t allege tokenism.

Qualifications for a “minority” person – simple:

Must be able to walk on water
Must be able to feed an army on 12 fish

    Y’know, that kind of stuff.

    Simple answer: Never.

Only White Heterosexual Republican Males are qualified for anything, ever, and the sooner all the rest of us learn our places, the better.

I guess there is one silver lining.

The more right wing idiots are tied up in knots over Amanda, the less time they have to try and stop health care reform, profile people with brown skin and replace science with crap that says what they want it to.

Heck, having Amanda on your team is like having a secret weapon– she can keep an army of wingnuts tied down all by herself!

And I love watching a far-right wackjob hyperventilate every time they are confronted with a successful, happy person from the GLBT community.

I object to the premise of your post. The Republicans have plenty of persons of minority. Look at our National Chairman, Michael Steel. I think we can all agree that he is doing a fine job. Locally, we even have a mentally challenged individual as National Committeeman.
