So, back in 2003 and 2004, Joe Lieberman’s campaign did a heck of a job rounding up endorsements for his presidential run. He ended up with the backing of a healthy slice of the Democratic caucus in the legislature. He made several of trips to the state, even speaking to a meeting of the Democrats of Greater Tucson at a midtown Chinese restaurant.
In the end, his hopes of winning the Arizona primary were dashed. He placed fifth in the primary behind John Edwards, whose Arizona campaign evaporated months before.
Imagine…if he’d been able to pull out a win in Arizona that catapulted him to the nomination? Gosh, things would be so different now.
