I heard that Jan Brewer was in DC for the lighting of the National Christmas Tree, which came from our state.
Here I thought she’d wait for the next special session to start before leaving the state.

Does this mean that Terry Goddard is in charge and can call a special session to finally balance the budget?
And can Jan stay out of state at least through next year’s elections? It would give us time to actually start fixing things…

Craig, yes that’s exactly what it means. Will he do that? Never. Why? Because then he’d actually have to come forward with a plan to balance the budget.

Please note that the incumbent has failed to produce a plan to balance the budget. If she had, we would not be where we are.

Note that I said nothing of the current governor. My distaste lies with Terry who has been silent instead of show one ounce of leadership. Democratic “plans” have been unrealistic and almost laughable because they have been so far out there. That doesn’t count as presenting a plan. Don’t give me the “we’re not included” crap either. I’ve been in situations where I was the lone Democrat, I put up my plan and guess what, it got noticed and the meat of it got instituted.

Indeed the Democrats were ignored at best, and dealt with in a less-than-honest way at worst. That is not “crap,” it is true. The fact is that the Republican majority is far more interested in political posturing than governing, and that is the source of the current mess. In cutting the Democrats out of the process they have not only made solving the problem impossible, but they have also made themselves solely responsible for the situation we are in.
I am not sure what the hell you are talking about as far as being the “lone Democrat” or what sort of situation you are talking about. Some folks live to complain, I suppose.
I know that when I was in the legislature, I was able to get some things of substance accomplished, but the leadership on the other side was not dominated by sociopaths.
