WCAP Update

Afghanistan? Tiger Woods? Don Stapely? Never mind that, what is going on in the World Cup of Arizona Politics?
It appears that Mo Udall and Terry Goddard are running away in their groups, with others fighting for a distant second. If there is a “Group of Death,” it would be Group 2, where John McCain managed to finally eke out a narrow lead against Isabella Greenway, but Mary Rose Wilcox could easilly make up ground on both of them.
Remember that voting ends tomorrow, and the top two finishers in each group advance to the round of 16.

Your Sam Coppersmith and Rose Mofford omissions are unforgivable, Tedski.
I also would have liked to have seen Evan Mecham and Joe Sweeney in the same bracket.

I agree with Adam. Too many Republicans in some of the brackets.
Although, I do like the fact that Pam Gorman and John Shadegg are in a tight battle for ‘worst,’ with Russell Pearce just behind in case they pick up any last minute support.

I’d also add, this would have been an interesting way to get an idea of how popular Janet still is, except that you also left her out.

Understanding that not everyone can be listed, no Bruce Babbitt? Let’s see… 6 years Attorney General, 10 years as Governor and one of 3 Arizonans to ever join the Cabinet and served all 8 years. As Governor he brought AZ into Medicaid, personally negotiated the first comprehensive groundwater code, doubled state parks, designed and passed urban lands legislation to manage growth, got the largest one year increase in teachers salaries ever and achieved the highest percentage of the state budget for education before – or since. How quickly we forget.
