Principals of Sports and Bisexuality Watching the Bathrooms, I Think

Ray Barnes made a doozy of a speech this afternoon. I don’t think I have ever seen that much rank ignorance being demonstrated before a public body. It made me embarassed to be an Arizonan. As soon as the session is archived, I’ll be posting it.

  • I cannot believe you would choose to level such an ad valorium attack against a fine man such as The Honorable Ray Barnes! Can you stop looking at everything through your left extreme partisan lens and recognize his leadership, as have non-partisan organizations like the Arizona Capitol Times and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce?

What is it with you people that you fly off the handle whenever someone stands up for God and Country? Glenn Beck is right about you people, you are all absolutely unhinged.

  • Republitard clearly didn’t catch the live feed. Or is the remark above sarcasm? Hard to tell these days.

I’ll second your rank ignorance verdict. Barnes totally wigged out today and then closed with a remark about being responsible for any bill that comes back to “burp” on him. Nice visual.

God and Country aside, his remarks were so far afield today that I’m not sure if he was even addressing the bills at hand. I, for one, am glad that you’ll be posting the link.

  • He’s a freakin mess, man. I honestly think he’s bellied up to the majority bar one too many times and feels he can swing his weight any which way the crazy blows. His “I am keepin’ it to the bill! Dontcha read the bills before ya start votin’ on ‘em?” — directed at Rep. Sinema — left me wondering just what part of the bill dealt with bisexual principals.

  • You know, there are ignition interlock devices to keep drunk drivers from starting their cars. Is there a way to adapt one of those to work on any mic that Barnes is near?

LOL! Do you think it would run in the neighborhood of $195,000? ‘Cuz I think that’s a system that the majority party would favor saddling Sen Gould’s mic with.

  • Somebody really needs to make a “best of” compilation video of these precious moments from our state legislature. You could call it “Republicans Gone Wild” and sell it as a fund raiser.

  • I saw Ray’s speach and thought it was great. Please explain why Rep. Kyrsten Sinema objected. Barnes never used her name.

  • Rite –

Sinema may have thought that Barnes was making a “bisexual people are all child molesters” reference.

Personally, I think it was a situation where Barnes couldn’t think of the word “hermaphrodite.”

Or maybe it was just too many syllables for him.

Either way, I think he was being a loudmouthed and ignorant ass, perhaps not just in the way that Rep. Sinema may have thought at first impression.

  • rite,

I suspect that rep. Sinema objected because the speech was insane.

And I second Zelph’s suggestion. I’d be willing to pay $20 bucks for a tape like that, it might be a great way to show people what the GOP legislature is really like (since most of them just read the headlines anyway.)

Although, the Arizona Republican actually did get today’s headline right for a change. They wrote, “State cuts into K-12, social services.” Which is right on target because, Ray Barnes’ delusions notwithstanding, anything that could be remotely described as waste or fat has long since been cut out of school budgets, they are definitely cutting into the meat right now.

  • This version has a nice opener with Representative Farley.
