Buehler-García’s Ad

Ben Buehler-García has been appearing on television screens lately, here he is:

Interestingly, Bueler-García’s ad bears more than a striking resemblance to this Bill Richardson ad which ran in early primary states in 2007. That ad was run as a way to introduce Richardson to voters in states where they may not have been familiar with a guy from New Mexico months before there would be any voting. This ad introduces Buehler-García to voters only a week before early ballots start to hit people’s mail boxes.

  • We had a field day with this one..

    1. He should have just had a voiceover, rather than a handsome, energetic man for viewers to compare him with.

    2. Last shot of him does not inspire confidence.

    3. He did what? sorry – they talked way too fast.

    4. I love Yoo-Hoo! sadly, that’s not enough to get my vote (besides the other obvious reasons).

  • Yeah, the last shot makes him look like a little bit of a lush….

  • Ben needed to smile more for the camera, to appear likeable. Not sure if many would be convinced to vote for him after that ad.

  • The ad was certainly successful in earning some free media coverage (on this blog) so it worked on at least some level.
