Grijalva Slams Conrad and Baucus
In one of those moves designed especially to frustrate folks like me, Kent Conrad and Max Baucus are placing language in the health care bill apparently prompted by Joe Wilson’s rant.
Come-the-heck-on.
The legislation already had specific language on this matter, and this truth didn’t seem to matter to the Wilsons of the world. Heck, Sarah Palin’s rants about “Death Panels” caused them to take out provisions dealing with end-of-life-counseling, and yet, the volume has been turned up on this silly allegation.
Wilson, Palin and company will say what they want regardless of what is in the bill. Tailoring the bill to address their paranoid fantasies won’t make them stop their baseless accusations and it certainly isn’t going to get their votes. Heck, Palin doesn’t even have a vote. So, why bother?
Anyway, that’s my rant on the matter. Our Man Raúl Grijalva had something similiar to day to Brian Beutler of TPM. That’s why we like him.
Oh, who is this guy Beutler and why does he get an interview with Grijalva? I know I live a block out of the district, but, where is the love I keep hearing it’s all about?

Max Baucus has gotten a ton of money from big Pharma and the insurance companies, and he already was essentially their tool at the table. Not only will his bill have co-ops instead of a government option but he is making sure that pharmaceutical companies will continue to be able to selectively gouge Americans since he won’t allow language in that allows them to negotiate.
Hopefully the Baucus bill will get tweaked to the left when it is married to the Eudcation and Labor committee bill, but that remains to be seen.
This just makes that worse.

Maybe he gave an interview to Tom … and thought he was talking to Ted.
