Will There Be Bolseros de Té?

This upcoming Saturday, September 5th, Raúl Grijalva will be attending (see CORRECTION below) a town hall-style health care forum. The meeting starts at 10:00 AM over at Sunnyside High School. The forum will be in Spanish.

I can already hear the complaints now, but Grijalva has had several fora in the Queen’s English already, including one that was largely ignored by local media. That one, ironically, was only covered by Telemundo and Univision.

CORRECTION – The original post said that Grijalva is hosting, but the forum is being hosted by Organizing for America and HCAN, a coalition of community and labor groups. Grijalva will be attending as a special guest.

  • Telemundo and Univison are about the only media outlets that have been covering these events. That is, unless you count KGUN, who cover the protestors that their talk-radio partners helped organize, but not the events themselves.

  • I’m outraged that there is no French-language simulcast.

  • I’m outraged that Bill Bradley came out in favor of federal med. malpractice tort reform today. Is this the beginning of what my new party is planning to trade to get healthcare reform? If so, I am switching back pronto.

  • Tom: I would like to hear more about this:

“That is, unless you count KGUN, who cover the protestors that their talk-radio partners helped organize”

I am ignorant on KGUN and their Talk Radio partners. Who are they? What are they? Do I need to start boycotting KGUN?

  • Ellis,

KGUN is part of some outfit called the Journal Broadcast group, which also owns 104.1 THE TRUTH. I got tired of watching the news on their station when they kept plugging their sister station on the broadcast as if they were in some sort of partnership.
