    hahaha. I would be interesting, think about who McCain would have nominated and the shit-storm the far right would be having over it.

    No way. Spiro Agnew, though a crook, was a highly educated and intelligent man. You can’t be a dummy to coin such witty aphorisms as “nattering nabobs of negativism”.

    If I remember right, I think Agnew got that phrase from Pat Buchanan who suggested that he use it.

    However a better veep fit for Sarah Palin would be Dan Quayle.

    I just looked it up, Eli. It was attributed to William Safire, his other speechwriter.
