You forgot Attorney General Terry Goddard!

Not only did you forget Terry, but he’s one of the few invited guests who will actually be present and speak (briefly). Iknow it was accidental and I do forgive you, but don’t ever do it again. Vera

Special thanks to Congressman Grijalva, Attorney General Goddard, Gov. Babbitt, Mr. Pederson, Dr. August and everyone else who made the event such a success. I hope that they will all be able to make next year’s Gov. Rose Mofford tribute even more successful!

An interesting choice of people to honor.
For more on Ambassador and Governor Castro, check out the March 23, 1977 IRE article, available online through Google News (“Raul Castro’s anti-corruption fight may be slipping,” The Bryan Times) and the December 17, 2002 article in South Africa’s The Star, also available online through Google News (“Security archives show US betrayed Argentina”).

IC, you are a hater. I think everybody should read the two articles you listed so people can see that dude didn’t even do anything wrong.

Meanwhile, “Inconvenient Truth” can sit in his mom’s basement and brag that there are no black marks on his own sterling record, because he’s never done shit.

IC, the Bryan Times article seems to suggest that Governor Castro had some ties to businesses in the State of Arizona… And that he received large political donations for nefarious people…
Sounds like a politician to me.

I met Raul first in the 1950’s when he was dating my Grandmother;whom he met at the Italian American Club on Stone Ave.
After a while he asked her to marry him. She told him she could not take the public life and turned him down.
Through Dino and Dennis I had my father-in-law Howard A. Bring (Brings Funeral Homes Inc.) appointed to the State Board Of Funeral Directors when Raul was Governor.
Alvin Bring ,Howards Father was a Delegate to the 1944 and 1948 Democratic Convention in Chicago and at the request of Harry Truman put his name on the ballot for President of The United States from The State of Arizona ,the first state called on the roll call.
Since I own Brown and Page Funeral Home in Douglas, Arizona also Raul has used our services as well as my families Brings Funeral Homes in Tucson.
There is always a special place in my heart for Raul; whom I call my Grandfather.
