The other problem with lableling is deciding who actually is here illegally, and who came illegally, and who is here illegally, but could be legal if they weren't afraid to go down to the Federal building and file some freaking paperwork. I think we group all these "undocumented immigrants" into one category. The reality is that there is a large continuum.
SCENARIO #1
Sibling of Naturalized and Parents never got alien Status: This person is eligible for alien status, only after his parents apply and are granted alien status. Problem, Parents are guaranteed status if neither have broken law.
SCENARIO #2
Entered on Bordercrosser visa (usually a 15 to 60 day pass) and stayed. Borrowed SSN off the internet and has lived in US over 7 years. Can pettion for legal status, pay a fine. No naturalized children.
SCENARIO #3 Paid high dollar for bordercrosser pass and came because of some type of family crisis; (abandoned kids, death in the extended family, civil litigation, voluntary witness in court, vacation) and stayed. Has been here over two years and can prove just cause that crisis requires said immigrant to remain in US.
SCENARIO #4 Came in on Student Visit to attend college. Or enrolls at UA and still without Alien Status and applies for student visa. As long as he can prove he/she is paying out of state tuition (or someone is) eligible for Alien Status.

Tell me these aren't very common, what are we going to do, round them up and kick them out. If a 15 day border crossing pass only cost between 200-350 dollars, do you know how much less trash there would be in the Sonoran Desert throughtout the REZ? People would just cross in Nogales and take the bus, and the USA Government would make money. Entry would be way more controlled. DUUUUUHHH!!!
