Hey, He Talks Pretty Good for a Tory
It really disturbs me how often I end up agreeing with Andrew Sullivan. They may need to send me to one of those re-education camps Michelle Bachmann keeps warning us about. Here is what he wrote this morning on the tea bag rallies:
They’re absolutely right to be alarmed about the deficits and debt. But the alarm should be judged in relation to the seriousness of their proposals to confront it. And those, alas, are so far unserious. When the tea-party movement offers a specific manifesto for bringing the country back to fiscal balance with no tax increases, I’ll take them seriously. Until then … I just hope you all feel better today.

Ah yes, more ridicule instead of discussion. Now the lower taxes and lower spending crowd gets dissed for not being “serious”. I’d say the people at the Tea Party were serious enough – they showed up.
BTW, there is a manifesto out there, Ron Paul wrote it and it is called “The Revolution: A Manifesto”.
According to amazon.com it appears to still be selling quite well for a book that has been out for 1 year.

I certainly hope that this tea party becomes an actual party. It will be the end of the Republican party and it will be the solid beginning of the Democrat Party realignment with them dominated American politics for a generation. Seriously.
