We should not let them get away with pushing a temporary sales tax increase when the root of our problem is that when times were good they cut all manner of taxes nine years in a row, so that even in fat years everything was running on a shoestring budget-- meaning that in a lean year...

This was caused by reckless and irresponsible tax cuts. And if they try to cut another tax this year (and they still may try) we should shout it out from the rooftops.

I may hold my nose and vote for this tax increase because it is necessary, yet in the long term it was so unnecessary for us to have ever gotten to this point.
