What Is the Pachyderm Coalition On and Will They Share?

The very conservative Pachyderm Coalition has a special rating system for Republican house and senate members. A member can be rated from Reagan Republican to RINO. Their “Reagan Republicans” include Andy Biggs, Jack Harper, Russell Pearce and Judy Burges. That’s to be expected. Their RINOs are John Nelson, Bill Konopnicki and…um…

Al Melvin.

That’s right. Melvin is a “Republican in Name Only.” What? Did they catch him renting Fahrenheit 911? Sharing a smoke with Raúl Grijalva? Did he have a fleeting interest in, you know, governing?

Well that sure is odd. Melvin ran on a campaign of total, lockstep, zombie-like compliance with and devotion to every page of the republican party platform (this statement is on youtube somewhere I believe).

Besides this, he beat out Hershberger by painting Pete as a Rino, and promising a return to real republican leadership/representation (I know, I know, there isn’t any such thing).

Next it will be Joe Sweeny and his soft stance on illegal immigration.

Guys like Melvin, Antenori, Paton, etc. just don’t get where they really stand in the GOP legislature. From Pima County — you’re de facto a RINO! The game isn’t about “ideology” . . . it’s about feeding the Maricopa County beast it’s locked-in diet of Arizona’s statewide tax income and keeping the brown people in peonage for the agricultural towns north of the Gila.

I agree with Tucson Vice. I think Cap’n Al’s classification is an attempt to make him a “trojan RINO,” to coin a phrase.

Ted, coalition is misspelled above in the title. Not “Coaltion”. It’s ok in the text. You probably need to use spell check before you post these blogs.

Thank you Carol. The titles, unfortunately, are missed in the spell check.

It surprises that Russell Pearce gets respect from anybody. We are talking about the guy who wanted split up ADOT so he could give his wife a job? This is the same man whose son was selling Fake IDs, out of a shop at ADOT in a job he was not qualified for and his father got him….Russell Pearce maybe the worst piece of exrement to land in Arizona Government since statehood. He isn’t a Republican, he’s a corrupt bastard……Ask Ron Gould if he can file Bankruptcy again….peace I’m out…

Perhaps the brain trust over at the Pachyderm Coalition is referring to Cap’n Al’s new mission to make all animal shelters “no kill”. They may find it reassuring though that he still hates women and minorities. He’s a proud Minuteman who opposes a woman’s right to choose even in the case of rape and incest. I doubt very seriously that the Cap’n would fight to keep HUMAN shelters “no kill”. Maybe he could get back in the good graces of the Pachyderm Coalition be reminding them that he doesn’t care about anyone outside of the SaddleBrooke compound. (Where are those half dozen NUKE-U-LAR power plants going that you so zealously campaigned for, Al?)

“I firmly believe in all 92 pages of the Republican Party Platform.”

It’s too bad that the YouTube with that nugget of wisdom has been mysteriously “removed by user”.

The GOP is continuing “Operation: Polish the Turd” and having one of their wackier groups denounce him as a RINO is one more step towards convincing the voters in LD26 that he’s a moderate. Which defines irony when you think about who he left in his wake.

Well, he did do a total about face on Rio Nuevo funding. First it was boondoggle and a waste of taxpayer money. Then SALC got to him and now he’s a supporter-albeit with some window dressing “reform”. That certainly should tarnish his fiscal conservative bona fides.
