Murmurs, and I Don’t Mean Leisha Hailey

The talk is that Bob Lord is making some moves to make himself eligible to run for state chairman. I’ve heard more than one person mention Jeff Latas’s name. I wonder how much of a case Latas can make against Don Bivens, given that he nominated the guy only two weeks ago.

It’s okay, these guys have plenty of time to make their decision on whether or not to run. They really don’t need to make up their minds until they get in the car to go to the meeting.

Why not amend the by-laws so that owing to the unique position of chair, the chair candidates have to announce in writing they will accept a nomination a week before the meeting. Then people could actually do a little research ahead of time and not be fooled again.

At the LD 11 meeting last night, Don Bivens told the crowd he was “humbled.” He promised that if elected, he will take input from the rank and file as to how money is spent. He also said he’d support more legislative candidates. He then asked Bob Lord to serve as finance chair.

Bob was elected to the precinct committee at the LD11 meeting and is hence now eligible to be state chairman. He is still mulling over whether or not he will run.

Maybe it should be the other way around: Lord as Chair and Bivens as Finance Chair. After running for Congress, Lord should know a thing or two about the political aspects of the party. Since Bivens’ strong suit as chair was in raising money, he can keep up with the big donors.
By the way, why is the finance chair appointed, not elected?

I will not vote for Bivens. I do not think we need the conservative candidates that Bivens and company backed. Look at the seats we have lost???? We need someone who will support candidates who matter for a change.
