Grijalva Makes His Stand

The other day I couldn’t sleep and caught the BBC World Service where they mentioned how many British artists won Grammys (Coldplay, don’t even get me started…). As an example, they mentioned that Robert Plant won album of the year. In their zeal to give their island kingdom credit, they failed to mention that the album and award was also credited to American Allison Krauss

So, in that spirit, I will present this letter from Raúl Grijalva and fail to mention Lynn What’s-her-name that wrote it with him. Arizonans rock.

In it, Grijalva describes what members of the Progressive Caucus want out of the stimulus bill (which today passed the Senate, but has to go to conference). Grijalva knows that he is a bit hamstrung because, unlike the Blue Dogs, they don’t have the option of taking a walk on the bill. Here are his comments to TPM’s Andrew Golis:

I don’t know. That gauntlet was necessary to throw down. Will there be the will to sink the package? I don’t know.
