Housekeeping
The blog went down last week, and this weekend it seemed to be less than reliable. The folks over at DreamHost, who host the blog, suggested I install a new version of WordPress, the software I use to write the blog. I took the opportunity to install a new plug-in to filter out spam comments, and even spam trackbacks. Hopefully, this will not give anyone trouble who wants to write a legitimate comment. If it does, make sure to click on the comment tab and give me a heads up.
(I also changed a setting so you can no longer comment on a post older than two weeks. This should cut down on spam too. There really is no reason to comment on an old post unless you are Roy Warden.)
I also added “gravatars” to the comments. Just a fun little thing to make your comments unique. You all have a generic “gravatar” (the territorial seal, of course). If you’d like to set up your own, you can go to the Gravatar page. This will also set your “gravatar” for other pages that use them.
Actual commentary of local politics later today. Maybe.
