Schweikert Steps In It
An Ahwatukee resident named William Cheney was stunned to see that his name was on postcards supporting David Schweikert. The trouble is, he hasn’t decided who he is supporting. One could say that maybe it was from another William Cheney, ‘cept it had his address on it.
So, the candidate and his campaign apologized for their mistake. After all, they are the party of personal responsibility.
Not really. Far from it. This is from the Ahwatukee Foothills News:
The Schweikert campaign said it was all a mistake by some volunteers.
J.P. Twist, Schweikert deputy campaign manager and communications director, said the problem began when Cheney called asking to have campaign information mailed to him.
“A couple addresses were left on the table,” Twist said. “When volunteers came in to write postcards they picked up Cheney’s address, thinking it was the home address of one of the volunteers, and began filling out cards. The address they picked up was the wrong address.”
But Cheney can’t figure out why the campaign would have his address sitting around. He insists he and his wife never called the campaign.
Wow. It’s the guy’s fault. It’s the volunteers’ fault. Maybe Schweikert’s folks can learn from campaigns in other states and, I don’t know, blame Chris Matthews.

Ahem,
As one who hails from the ‘Tuke, I must inform you that it is spelled Ahwatukee.
