Because I’m That Friggin’ Important

I am suspending activities on this blog while I put my energies into resolving the current financial crisis. I call on Espresso Pundit to do the same.

  • You and Greg can resume blogging. Sarah Palin’s pastor in on the case! A video has surfaced where he explains how to fix the economy. Have the Christians take it over from the Jews!

  • I applaud your patriotism. I know President Bush, Senators Obama and McCain, and all Americans appreciate your efforts.

But I have one question: Could you please tell us what national or world crises you were solving on the other days you haven’t posted on this site?
On second thought, the evil mainstream media probably won’t ask you that question, so don’t bother to do it just for your RRR constituents.

  • I’m sure you’d want to cancel the debate, too.

  • I have issues with this bailout stuff….

    1) the Republicans have shirked the blame on this, trying to say that this “crisis” is due to a number of factors. That as they say, is bullshit. About 85% of this crisis is due to policies that Republicans either passed, proposed, bullies through and definitely are philosphically responsible. Dems can’t play the blame game, but a lot of this rests on dumbass Bush and his cronies.

    2) 700 Billion, for lack of a better term, is a SHITLOAD of money. It is enough to give every homeowner in the United States 10 grand, or enough to give everyone in the United States 22oo bucks. Their is no possible way they need that much. Sorry, not buying it.

    3) All these Wall Street execs need to take vows of poverty. Every guy needs all, and I mean ALL of his assets stripped and they can be sold at auction. The second I hear about the CEO or CFO or any board member at Lehman running around in his yacht, I will be pissed. I say sell your friggin yacht; then give my buddy the 27 grand he had in his “trusty” Lehman portfolio back. That was for his kid’s college education. How are none of those jerks living in a modest 3 bedroom 2 bath aparment in Jersey, taking the train, driving a 10 year old mini-van and have a maxium 5 grand in the bank until further notice.

    4) How the hell is McCain trying to pull hero of the month here. I want people to know that politically this is a dog. If they do authorize a bailout and banks still fail, he is an idiot. If they authorize and the dollar devalues, he is an idiot. And if they authorize the Money and the CEO’s get paid, there will be some pissed off people.

    5) Here are some fear tactics out of the Neocon/Rove playbook: With the condition this country has been put it, if Palin becomes President, it is very possible this Nation would cease to exist. Not kidding. I am typing this sentence with a somber look and a giant boxing glove full of reality constantly hitting me in the face.

    6) It has come to the point where actions now speak louder than words, I have decided that a substantial number of Republicans (not all Republicans) are so vile that I refuse to help them out. I have compile a list from opensecrets.org of companies under boycott. Carl’s Junior is now off the table. They give all, 100% of their political money to Republicans. Unnacceptable. Carl’s Junior is off the table and I, under no cirucmstances will patronize that establishment. I will not be insured by State Farm, I will shop at Safeway and Fry’s, (and Basha’s) but Albertson’s is off the table. I will never buy a Dell computer, ever. Apples and Hewelett Packard appear ideologically ok. Thank the good lord I don’t have to give up Miller Lite, but if you seem me with a six pack of Coors, it will be because of hell freezing over. US Airways, despite being based in AZ, is off the table. So is Southwest Airways. (though they gave to Dems in years past) Meanwhile, United, American, Continental, JetBlue give more too democrats. Arby’s give the most in the food sector, and the Outback is a place I will no longer eat as those turkeys ponied up 550 thousand dollars for Republicans and 43 thousand for Dems. They are definitely off the table. Here’s a crazy one. get your clothes at the GAP and Target is not better than Wal-mart. Stick to Walgreen’s and Costco. That and buy a Chrysler. Thanks for letting me pontificate. Spread the word.

  • The bailout failed and the entire Arizona Delegation voted against it.

  • I am so happy about this. The enitre delegation must have read my comment above. But seriously, Some of this is bankruptcy laws that Repubs are to blame for, de-regs on lending, mostly setup from 2003-2005, also Repubs fault. Failure to protect bad mortgages; that also goes to Repubs. The bailout doesn’t benefit AZ at ALL. …the only way our people vote for it is with Mortgage relief directly to families. PEACE

  • Paul, you are so right about Carl’s Jr. They’re based in Arizona and the company and family members gave hundreds of $1000s to Prop 105 (gawdawful initiative that will require most ballot measures to get the majority of qualified electors to vote yes on them - IOW, it will effectively destroy ballot initiatives) and Prop 202 (which will shift the onus of employer sanctions off the employers and make felons of employees with fake documents). Some Democrats think Jason Levecke is a nice pro-immigration moderate Republican. He’s not. The reason he supports Prop 105 is because he’s miffed about the minimum wage increase in 2006 and the reason he supports Prop 202 is because he doesn’t want to have to verify the status of his employees.

  • Donna–thanks for backing me up about Carl’s….they truly, truly suck. It isn’t really about that…for the past several years I have consistently led myself to believe that loyalty to Arizona outweighed any loyalty to a political party, however, after examining the past 4 years, that loyalty has to stop somewhere. Republicans(and not all of them) must be held accountable for compromising the quality of life of so many Americans. I propose, after November is through, and HOPEfully we have some of the change we seek, a campaign is launched to boycott GOP friendly companies. Those bastards do it all the time, and as they say…fight fire with fire.

  • Jason Levecke will spend $570k on an initiative but won’t pay his over worked fast food employees a decent wage without a government mandate.

Sure, it doesn’t take much of a brain to do fast food service but it takes physical stamina and an astute conscientiousness of proper hygiene. Considering the damage an the average fast food worker could do to a number of people who frequent their establishments, we should have more respect for people who work at these joints, and certainly not skimp on their salaries like Jason Levecke suggests.

  • I am switching my car insurance to Liberty Mutual. Even though they are 51-49 for Repubs….they are the best ratio in that industry.

    Eat at Arby’s……
