Elipsis Can Hide So Much

Our boy Tim Bee has written a blog post for The Hill. While I guess I should welcome the little stinger to the ranks of bloggerdom, a dubious honor indeed.
He’s a bit, shall we say, creative in his use of elipsis. Check out this paragraph from his post:
This crisis must be dealt with; but not on the [...]

In Case You Are Curious…

The entire Arizona delegation voted against the bailout.
Geez, John McCain couldn’t even get folks in his home state to vote for this thing, despite suspending his campaign cancelling his appearance on David Letterman? Gosh, he’d do a heck of a job ramming his maverick reformer agenda through congress, won’t he?

Those PUMAs, Always Classy

Once in a while I check the PUMA Pac blog to see what sort on unhinged stupidity I can find over there. Today, I saw a post that I thought crossed the line, where they compare the look of Barack Obama spokesman David Axelrod to Adolf Hitler.
They know that Axelrod is Jewish, right?
Way to keep [...]

Where Was Tim?

There was a candidate forum yesterday in Green Valley with roughly a dozen candidates from various races. Two candidates that weren’t there: Gabrielle Giffords and Tim Bee. Giffords is currently in Washington, but sent campaign chairman Michael McNulty to speak in her absence. Bee, on the other hand, never showed after confirming he’d be there.
Observers [...]

Because I’m That Friggin’ Important

I am suspending activities on this blog while I put my energies into resolving the current financial crisis. I call on Espresso Pundit to do the same.

Initial Thoughts on the McCain Suspension

Okay, big news that you have already heard, I’m sure: John McCain says he is suspending his campaign to deal with the financial crisis. Already, folks are wondering if this has more to do with the meltdown in his polling numbers than with the meltdown in the credit market.
Even as an Barack Obama partisan that [...]

REQUEST FOR URGENT BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP

R-Cubed reader Todd Phillips posted this on his Facebook page. Classic:
DEAR AMERICAN:
I NEED TO ASK YOU TO SUPPORT AN URGENT SECRET BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP WITH A TRANSFER OF FUNDS OF GREAT MAGNITUDE.
I AM MINISTRY OF THE TREASURY OF THE REPUBLIC OF AMERICA. MY COUNTRY HAS HAD CRISIS THAT HAS CAUSED THE NEED FOR LARGE TRANSFER OF [...]

Anti-Payday Loan Campaign Makes Washington Post

The payday loan industry’s ballot campaigns here and in Ohio have caught the notice of the Washington Post, who had an article about them this morning. Quoted in the article is local political consultant, new father and most importantly, frequent reader of this blog David Higuera.
I remember that voters turned back several “grassroots” initiatives funded by [...]

Giffords Fundraiser

I got a pass to get into Gabrielle Giffords’s fundraiser with Calexico over at the Rialto this weekend. This brings up a piece of goofiness: do I post the videos I took here or do I save them for my Polish-Mexican page where I put up stuff about local music (and which only four of [...]

Remember the Maine!

I know that yesterday everyone was transfixed not only by the interview that John McCain had where he seemed to think that the Prime Minister of Spain was an anti-American Latin American dictator (even after the interviewer clearly identified him as the Prime Minister of Spain). Okay, maybe not transfixed, but I followed it. I [...]
