When There’s Too Much Traffic, I Can’t Pass, No…

The signal became really iffy around the time that Obama took the stage. I think there may have been too much cell phone traffic in the stadium. Sorry…but I bet most of you were paying more attention to Obama’s speech than my “live blogs.”

My take on the speech: Damn.

You ever see Diego Maradona play? He’d get the ball and instead of looking for spaces he’d run right at the defender. It’d leave the guy tripping over his own feet and making a jackass of himself. I feel like Obama did that tonight: taking McCain on on the “Celebrity” thing, national security and experience. He attacked McCain on the ground that he is supposedly strongest on. Obama was even willing to engage McCain on abortion and gun control. A total frickin’ masterpiece.

Apparently, it’s left the McCain campaign struggling for a response.

  • I am so looking forward to hearing this speech tomorrow morning!!! Everything I’ve read, republican memo withstanding, raves about the job he did….

Word all day was that McCain was planning a surprise. Turned out to be a very nice little congrats message acknowledging the historical significance of Obama’s nomination at the day. Nice job by McCain. (though they had a dirty little viral video message called remote control, heard it on POTUS08 this morning.)

  • My grandsons, Ronan and Max were in my lap clapping during the speech. Ronan joined in with “8 years is enough!” Will the YD take him at 3 1/2?

  • 3 1/2!? He can walk and talk right? He can be our honorary youngest member of the YD’s.

  • I like the call the babies Diapercrats.

Diapercrats! Awesome. My son, 2 1/2, already says “Obama” (sounds more like, “Omama”, but we’ll take it) and then claps and says “Yay!”.

Get ‘em while their young…that’s my motto!

Ted - great job this week! Have a safe trip home!

  • You know how well the Dems did this week by McCain trying to steal their thunder by announcing his VP choice as the woman gov. from Alaska. Ms. Whatshername….Still going for the Hillary supporters who won’t switch. He is such a panderer.

Obama did an excellent job last, hit all the points and looked presidential while doing it. I can’t imagine the Republicans being able to pull off a convention as spirited as the Dems. Gee who will they bring out for entertainment? Dennis Miller and Arnold?

  • “Less a speech, than a symphony,” noted one commentator.
    A masterpiece indeed, Ted.
Thank you for making me feel closer to this historic moment.

  • I was worried about us having our deal first because of the tendency of post-convention bounces to stick, with the last one getting the benefit. But in this case, another blogger (I forget who) nailed it when he said it was like when Jimi Hendrix opened for the Monkees.
