Harper to be Investigated

The Senate Ethics committee has noted today to pursue an investigation against one of our favorite Senators here at R-Cubed, Jack Harper. The allegation is that Harper turned off the microphones of Paula Aboud and Ken Cheuvront during the the debate in the final hours of the session when they were attempting to stop the gay marriage bill. I’m making some calls on this, and I’ll have an update later.

I’m sure that Greg Patterson will use this as yet another example that the politics of this state are under control of a Trotskyite conspiracy, an assertion that would come as a great surprise to anyone that has actually observed Arizona politics for the last fourty years.

I was lol’ing at some of the comments on Patterson’s post. My favorite was the guy who claimed that “scum like Delay and Abramoff ruined the party”, unlike moral stalwarts like Patterson and Kyl (!). And John McCain is going to save us all!

Sure would love to see him found guilty–just how is that going to happen though?

Abuses of power like Harper’s stunt won’t happen if he is made a member of the minority party. Many of you live in districts where there is no general election campaign slated for the State Senate. Meanwhile, here in LD26, Cheryl Cage will take on the winner of the Melvin-Hershberger primary in order to save this seat for the Dems and work towards a majority in the State Senate.

Please contact Cheryl if you can be of help to her campaign.

District 4 has former MN Senator Sharon Marko living there now. She’d blow Harper out of the water.
