Jon Justice Update
The folks over at Derechos Humanos have done a great job of keeping the pressure on the sponsors of Jon Justice’s show. “Sponsor” may be a strong term, since many bought their time as a package and didn’t realize that they would be affiliated with the show.
According to Derechos, the following sponsors have withdrawn their support of the show:
- Main Gate Square
- Patio Pools & Spa
- The Auto Body Shop
- Advanced Recon
- Aung Foot Health Clinics
- Sol Cars
- The Wildcat House
We should all patronize these buisisnesses and let them know that we thank them.
Some buisinesses that Derechos contacted made it clear that the agreed with Justice’s crusade. That’s fine, I suppose, but why did one feel the need to tell the person calling that they didn’t market to Hispanics and didn’t want Hispanic customers? This whole thing is really not about race though, right?

To think Isabell Garcia can separate her private life from her position as a public defender with such an over the top media stunt is naive in the least. Let’s look at the reality or consequences of her actions. Her office will have a terrible time defending a person charged with a crime against a person illegally in the United States. I would council any defended who is charged with such a crime to ask for a private attorney at taxpayers expense. By her actions, Isabel Garcia has raised the issue whether her office will vigorously defend someone accused of such a crime. If any of her attorneys where questioned as to competency in such a case, Garcia’s policy’s and actions would certainly be relevant on appeal.

I am glad people are pulling support for this kind of shit. Isabell has always been a tireless supporter of all people and their rights, regardless of where they might or might not be from.

Tucson City Council wasted 77 million taxpayer dollars in that money pit they call Rio Nuevo with accounting that would make ENRON proud. South Tucson has over $300,000 embezzled and they don’t realize it until the Fed’s serve a search warrant and all you can come up with is this hypocritical crap about Justice. Get into the big time Ted, justify that ego of yours.

Hey! Look! A McCain supporter is complaining about someone making meaningless, petty attacks! Pot, meet kettle.

Hey Walt,
On Rio Nuevo, I sure hope you won’t forget that it was Tim Bee that was most instrumental in securing the funding mechanism tax for Rio Nuevo. Check past Tucson Weekly stories on the project and the funding and note over and over how he credit claimed and everyone gave him credit for it.
I think we should also give him credit for the last two budgets…shall we? You know…the ones that now have us in hock by over a billion dollars?

Oh…and as to the waste of money…read the stories…it wasn’t council, it was the Mayor, past councils with GOP balance, and the business developers that have screwed this project up. Talk to some of the GOP developers like Teufel, Bourn, and the like about how they got some sweetheart deals to get cheap land, knock down buildings …only to see nothing.
