If you wonder why good people don’t want to serve in office, just go look in the mirror — it’s us, the electorate. We bitch when politicians are partisan. We bitch when they refuse to be partisan. We have attention spans that last no longer than it takes to read a cover sheet to an executive summary — reading and understanding an entire public policy document, forget it! It’s a lot easier to blog and bitch — and do absolutely nothing else. The Mayor’s endorsement of a congressional candidate won’t amount to a hill of beans either way, but intellectually deficient responses on this blog certainly do tell a story. And it ain’t pretty. Next time you want to do nothing but complain, remember who it is you are really bitching about — your own lame self.

And what are you doing, Jay?

Democratic complaints about Mayor Gordon have less to do with policy than his propensity to play kissy face with whomever will further his personal ambition (e.g. John McCain). This is all fine and good, but it’s clear that the Mayor is itching to run for federal office as a Democrat. He even has a federal PAC. All we’re asking for is a little loyalty from someone who wants to represent the party on the ballot.
Congratulations on your mayoral appointment to the transit board last week, by the way. It’s nice to see someone understands what loyalty looks like.
