Do House rules state that Congressmen have to resign upon an indictment for a felony?

I think the rules require stepping down if convicted, not just indicted. (that whole innocent until proven guilty thing).

But, the Republican leadership will pressure him to get out ASAP. They do not need this getting any more press than it already has..

add to the mix: Renzi was named to McCain’s AZ committee back in January.

It hasn’t been mentioned a lot on the national news I’ve heard so far, other than on XM Radio’s POTUS08.

Johnny-Mac has used the NY Times flap to raise money, wonder how he will turn having an indicted Congressman as a backer into a plus?

I have also heard that the Big Mac did an auto-dial in support of Renzi in the fall of 2006 - calling him a great guy and all that.

What a great judge of character.
