What the $%#& Is Up With the Pima County Results?
Round about eight thirty or so, we check the Pima County Elections website for results from tonight’s vote. They showed Hillary Clinton skunking Barack Obama 427 to 325. Understandable, really. There the results stood for quite a while, with no new results posted for a long time.
Later in the evening, the first results were posted from today’s voting and they turned around to Clinton losing 4711 to 4946. This gave folks around the Obama office some hope, even though networks already projected a Clinton victory, a shift like this in the second largest county could change things in a big way (remember that Missouri was called early for Clinton). Hope for another reason in the delegate count, since the county dominates CD 7 and 8.
So, we watched and watched. It is now twenty until midnight, and the results still stand at Obama 49.5%, Clinton 47.1%. A little more than 10,000 votes counted, and none new for the last couple of hours. Hey, Brad Nelson, what the heck is going on down there on Mission Road?

This is what you democrats asked for by changing a voting tabulation process that was not broken. Eat it and enjoy it. I thought you activist said you did not mind waiting to ensure the vote count was accurate?

Just so there isn’t any misunderstanding, Hillary did win Pima County. Hooray!!! Election results are posted here: http://www.pima.gov/elections/results.htm.
AZ had an almost exclusively volunteer effort on Hillary’s behalf and she still beat out Obama — even here in Tucson. That’s one strong woman!

I read that there were people at some polling stations who waited for long periods of time (1-1.5 hours) to vote. A friend of mine at work said there were 50 people waiting in line at his polling station and that the line moved like molasses. The Star had an article today which indicated that the “state” had told the counties to cut the number of polling stations in half (?). Does anyone know why? Who pays for the polling for the primaries? Are the counties reimbursed by the state and the state told them to do this to save money? Does anyone know where in the state government did this order came?
