S’ok Kimble, I’ll Let the R Cubed Legal Department Handle This One

At 7:18 AM yesterday, Mark Kimble wrote this on the Tucson Citizen’s blog:
[Tim] Bee plans to make it all formal Saturday morning at Palo Verde High School, where he is an alum.
Maybe he should rethink the location.
In 2006, Democrat and former television news anchor Patty Weiss showed up at Palo Verde High School – her [...]

Next, He’ll Try to Overturn That 2002 District 27 Senate Primary

John Kromko has reportedly sent a note (handwritten even!) to Terry Goddard claiming that he is going overturn the RTA election.
Um, yeah. Given we are talking about a transit vote, is it proper to say that that train has left the station?
Statutes are pretty clear about this: you have until the Board of Supervisors certifies [...]

That Other Weiers…

I recieved a missive from our capitol correspondent, Sonoran Sam. Sam is an alright guy because despite his residency in the Valley of the Yakes, he is a former Tucsonan.
Posting his stuff is easier than writing my own, right?
Rep. Jerry Weiers – not to be confused with his evil brother Big Jim Weiers, the speaker [...]

He’s Doing What? Who Knew?

People keep telling me that Tim Bee is going to tell us whether or not he’s going to run for congress this weekend.
Wow. I wonder what he is going to say?
According to his press release, he’s announcing Saturday morning at Palo Verde High School. For those who like unintentional symbolism, a candidate announced at Palo [...]

Michoacán Seems Like a Dream to Me Now

Those of you that watched John McCain’s concession speech last night noticed the fehlleistung where he said “Mexican voters” rather than “Michigan voters.”
I’m willing to cut the guy a break. He was probably speaking of ? and the Mysterians, who everyone knows are from Flint.
By the way, ? has always said that he’d be singing [...]

Distaff Disatisfaction

The Yellow Sheet found a few Hillary Clinton backers to find out their opinion of Janet Napolitano’s endorsement of Barack Obama. Pima County activist Judy Nagle was the most blunt:
Janet stabbed us all in the back.
Mary Rose Willcox and Ken Cheuvront had more muted responses that were probably a bit closer to the official talking [...]

Saradnik Replacement Herd Culled

Democratic activists in District 26 made their picks for the list that will be submitted to the Board of Supervisors to replace Lena Saradnik.
They are businesswoman Cheryl Cage, Don Jorgenson (who is already filed as a house candidate) and former Amphitheater School Board Member Nancy Young Wright.
If I were a betting man, I’d put my [...]

Um…You Read the Ballot, Right?

MSNBC reported some exit poll numbers last night. An interesting one was where voters in the Democratic primary who voted for uncommitted were asked who they would have voted for had there been a complete ballot.
Three percent said Hillary Clinton, who actually was on the ballot.
Chew on that one and get back to me.

Soy Barack Obama…

Here is the Spanish language Barack Obama ad running in Nevada. For the Español deprived among you, he’s playing up his immigrant roots to show solidarność with Hispanic immigrants and their decendants.

Don’t Worry, It’s Not a Big College Town

Years ago, a couple of us worked the U of A to register voters. I knew that one of the candidates that year had a program where they contacted newly registered voters. I thought it would be helpful to give them the names of the folks that we had registered that day, 110 of them.
Instead [...]
