At Least She Didn’t Say That He Was the Guy on the Sakura Ads
A confusing aspect of Southern Arizona politics: not only did we have a long time State Senator named Luis Gonzales, but there is a Luis Gonzales currently on the Yaqui Tribal Council. To make matters more confusing, Luis Gonzales did work for the Yaqui Tribe. What’s more, Councilmember Gonzales had a wife, Sally Ann, who served in the State House and ran for the Senate seat once occupied by the other Gonzales. To complicate matters even further, the former Senator had a serious falling out with the Yaqui tribal government.
If you are seriously dehydrated and you squint, you may even see a slight resemblance between ambos Luis Gonzales.
Olivia Cajero Bedford had Councilmember and Representative Gonzales as guests at the legislature. She introduced them to the body, but, unfortunately, Councilmember Gonzales was introduced as “a former state senator.”
Oops.
One of our legislative correspondents reports that Councilmember Gonzales was less than amused.
