Next, He’ll Try to Overturn That 2002 District 27 Senate Primary

John KromkoJohn Kromko has reportedly sent a note (handwritten even!) to Terry Goddard claiming that he is going overturn the RTA election.

Um, yeah. Given we are talking about a transit vote, is it proper to say that that train has left the station?

Statutes are pretty clear about this: you have until the Board of Supervisors certifies the election to challenge it, usually about five days. It’s been nearly two years.

This is all tied to the election integrity lawsuit, where there were irregularities found in county procedures. Despite this, the results pretty well lined up with pre-election polling and the day-of results matched up fairly well with the absentee ballot results. No one has found any evidence of actual fraud, but serious incompetence. But never mind, Kromko’s side lost, so something is up.

Could we get back to the whole purpose of this exercise: fixing the procedures that the Division of Elections uses and implementing some sort of public audit procedure? Thanks.

  • Hey Ted . . .the real issue is how NONE of the dems on the Board of Sups wanted to release the RTA databases… It was Ray Carroll who forced ELias and the other liars to give up the data that the Pima County Democratic Party was requesting! Wow–you should have seen how he took control from that group of thieves and allowed the people voice their opinions! I can’t believe i’m praising a republican– but he deserves credit where it’s due! We need to elect 3 new Democrats to the Board of Supervisors! Richard Elias tried to silence us, Carroll didn’t allow it.

  • For one thing, what you are saying is not true…Elias had been trying to get the bureaucracy to relent on this thing for some time.

But hey, lets take arguably the most progressive guy in local politics and throw him under the bus because he didn’t act quickly enough on your pet issue.

  • Does the honorary degree Kromko recently got from Joe Sweeney’s unaccredited law school qualify him to run for attorney general? Or county attorney?

    ;-)

  • Tedski . . . you say: “Elias had been trying to get the bureaucracy to relent for some time” — isn’t he the chairman of the Board– who is in charge here? Huckelberry or Elias? Why was Carroll able to accomplish this? You can try to spin it any way you want– but the activists who were there know the truth!

Okay, so Mr. Elias didn’t act quickly enough on my “pet issue” which is transparency in elections. Voters need to have confidence in elections, don’t you agree? Another “pet issue” — raising TAXES ON THE POOR: Elias, Bronson and Valdez never met a tax they didn’t like. Every tax increase proposed by Huckelberry to the Board was stanchly defended by the “progressive” dems on the Board of Sups. Sales tax and property taxes alike. These clowns don’t even question the annual county budget –they make a political decision to support the tax increases and HATE when Ray Carroll asks questions.

When property taxes go up, so do monthly rents–guess who that hurts? Landlords don’t eat the cost increase– they pass it along to renters– folks who can’t even afford to buy a home. Think about it homeboy.

I like you and your blog a whole heck of alot! That’s why I enjoy reading it daily and I appreciate the forum!
