Letter to Mike Huckabee

I’ve written a missive to Mike Huckabee’s campaign. I’ll keep you informed when I get a response:

Yesterday, Mike Huckabee’s Arizona Chairman, Sen. Jack Harper, told a
reporter from the Associated Press that the Democratic Party is the “party
of anarchy and flag burning.”

(Link: http://www.azcentral.com/members/Blog/PluggedIn/14104)

We in Arizona would like to know which of the following Democrats are
anarchists, and which are flag burners. Thank you.

Sen. Hillary Clinton
Sen. John Edwards
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords
Rep. Raúl Grijalva
Rep. Harry Mitchell
Gov. Janet Napolitano
Sen. Barack Obama
Rep. Ed Pastor
Rep. Nancy Pelosi
Rep. Tom Prezelski
Sen. Harry Reid
Gov. Bill Richardson

CORRECTION - I recieved an e-mail from Amanda Crawford. It seems that I misread the Plugged-In blog post. AP scribe Paul Davenport pestered Sen. Harper, but it was Crawford from the Republic who elicited the “anarchists and flag burners” comment. It looks like Jim Waring isn’t the only one having trouble reading this week. R-Cubed regrets the error.

  • Tedski,

Will you also write a letter to the Clinton campaign and ask her to tell her allies not to create the Swift Boat style scorched earth campaign against Obama that they’re planning?

“Clinton Allies May Dump Millions Into Anti-Obama Group,” (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/01/08/clinton-allies-may-dump-m_n_80460.html)

  • Good article, UG.

“”…some top independent expenditure groups supporting Clinton have been exploring the creation of an anti-Obama “527 committee” that would take unlimited contributions from a few of Clinton’s super-rich backers and from a handful of unions to finance television ads and direct mail designed to tarnish the Illinois Senator’s image.”"

Well, the people are voting and a message is being sent to Hillary, Inc. but they are not taking it well.

This may get really ugly and I hope it backfires against Hillary in a BIG way should she and her supporters turn this into a smear campaign. Has Karl Rove joined her team yet?

  • Well, it looks like Hillary is going to win in New Hampshire although it will not be much based on 55% reporting right now. So much for polls and exit polls.

I wonder if all that negativity followed by the boo hoo hoo scene at the restaurant, then more negativity paid off. I was really hoping she would lose.

The day of reckoning really will be Super Tuesday and maybe that’s the way it should be. It certainly is more democratic.

But if this ends up being McCain and Hillary, my vote goes to Bloomberg.

  • And now this from CNN…

    Clinton supporters boo Obama
    Posted: 11:35 PM ET

CNN’s Sasha Johnson reports that when televisions broadcast Barack Obama’s comments on the Iraq war, midway through his election night speech, some Hillary Clinton supporters at her campaign headquarters began to boo.

  • Yeah, that is interesting about Hillary, Inc., isn’t it? The supporters are as nasty as the Clintons.

I’m sure that Hillary sees this as the fight of her life. I just hope that she goes too far with her theatrics and it backfires. The media allows her to get away with too much. Obama would be finished right now if he had reacted to any of her taunts.

In the meantime, the OSCAR goes to Hillary Clinton for her performance in a New Hampshire restaurant where she pretended to have feelings and the public fell for it.

That woman could eat walls and spit bricks, make no mistake.
