It’s Like Harper’s Job Is To Provide Me With Stuff To Write

Jack HarperJack Harper, our favorite small-minded vindictive legislator, is at it again. He has filed a bill, SB 1064, that allows unaffiliated voters to vote in primaries.

“Gee, Tedski, that doesn’t sound so vindictive. Maybe you should step back and let Harper do his job for a change. Don’t you have something else to write about?”

Ah…but remember who wrote this bill…it can’t be so simple and goody goody.

Harper has language in the bill only allowing unaffiliated and minor party voters to take the ballot of the political party with the most registered voters in Arizona, the Republican Party.

AnarchyNow, here is the fun part. Harper was cornered by a reporter and asked why this provision is in the bill. He hemmed and hawed (doesn’t even have the courage of his own wing nut convictions, I guess) before finally blurting out that the Arizona Democratic Party is “the party of anarchy and flag burning.”

Yep, Harper found us out. Our state party meetings are dominated by fights between the anarchists and the flag burners. I get tired of the conflict, actually. I’m part of a group of younger party activists that hope to open up the party, you know, broaden its base to include sindicalists, marxists and puppy drowners. We encounter a lot of resistance from the old guard, but we fight on.

Not much can be done about Harper, but what is with these other people? First off, what is with Jim Waring, who co-sponsored this? He admitted to the Republic that he didn’t read the bill first (groan). Jim, always read it if Harper is involved. Heck, don’t read it, just walk away. Next: what is with Tim Bee? Bee still, apparently, thinks that this baboso is the sort of guy that should run the Senate Government Committee. Last: what is with Paul Davenport, the reporter, thinking he’d get anything except an inane response from Harper?

NB - Oh, there is a raft of other silly bills up this year. Watch this space!
