Slap Bass Bones, Rockabilly Ultra Cool
Years ago, when Jim Pederson first ran for chair of the state Democratic party, someone had made “Jim Pederson for Governor” signs and put them up in the hall. This couldn’t have made the then attorney general happy. They didn’t stay up long.
Well, according to the Arizona Republic’s Plugged In blog, Pederson is seriously entertaining such thoughts all these years later. He is also looking at running for mayor of Phoenix.
Since it appears that Phil Gordon has abandoned his plans to run for governor (he did a poll and found out that he’d get beaten like a Led Zeppelin cover band’s kick drum, something I’ve been meaning to write about for a while), this leaves an opening for Pederson to be the opposition to Terry Goddard in a Democratic primary. Of course, Gordon found out that there isn’t exactly a large anti-Goddard constituency among Democratic primary voters.
But here is my question for Pederson…why did he go to the Republic instead of me? Where is the love, Jim?

Is this Gordon poll online anywhere?

Gordon is probably smart to not run against Goddard. Doesn’t he know Phoenix mayors don’t win the Governor’s race. Ask Terry Goddard and a slew of others who have tried. Go to Winslow or Douglas and ask those folks if they would vote for a Mayor of Phoenix. I believe the saying is ” I would rather vote for a yellow dog”
