Eckerstrom Out
This morning Daniel Scarpinato reports that Paul Eckerstrom has bowed out of the race for County Attorney. Gosh darnit.
I heard about this earlier in the week. Apparently, he spoke with several people about it at a Pima County Democratic party get together. He didn’t speak to me about it though…I guess…now that he isn’t a candidate, he doesn’t need me any more.

No, it’s okay.
Actually, he had been developing some doubts about the race for weeks and has been discussing them with supporters (including me). Not that he didn’t think that he could pull this off, or that he is any less convinced that the current office holder needs to be replaced. It’s that this is one of those rare occasions in politics where a potential candidate bows out and is actually doing it for family considerations.
Go figure.
