Not Quite His Natal Stream, But He Looks to Return
Jump to Comments
Brand spanking new rumors from the great maws of our very own Heliopolis that former congressman and Republican party chair Matt Salmon will be leaving our great state to become a telecommunications lobbyist in Washington.
Interesting, but the thing I can’t figure is why with the way political winds are blowing would a lobbying frim hire Salmon? It would be an understatement to say that the guy ain’t exactly a friend of a lot of Democratic elected officials. I can’t imagine he would have much influence over any Democratic committee chair, much less a White House that dollars to donuts will not be run by his party.

Eh…I will give him a break…only because it just shows how ineffective the GOP has been in Arizona. It is also another example of what happens when promising office holders lose…
…never heard from again.

Ted:
You would be surprised at Matt’s ability to work well with members of the opposite party. As you may recall, Matt defeated me in a race for Congress in 1994 that was quite well fought. Just three years later, he and I were working closely on a project when I was in the Clinton Administration.
