For Those About to Barack…
The Barack Obama campaign had its Southern Arizona headquarters opening last week and hasn’t wasted any time. I’ve already been phone banked.
My phone number is not on my voter registration, so I can only conclude that they were calling folks on some sort of Democratic party list. The primary here is in early February (as the caller reminded me), but this seems to be the only campaign doing this so far.
Which brings me to a related point: where is the ass kissing? I mean, the Republic declared me a “must-read” week before last but I haven’t gotten the proper genuflection from any of these candidates. Come on guys (and gal)! Keep this up and I’ll endorse Mike Gravel.

An interesting event occurred a few weeks ago in Coconino County. The County Dems hosted a “Mock Convention”. About 180 people showed up, some from Yavapai and Navajo Counties as well. It was run in a traditional fashion and was alot of fun.
The interesting thing was the cross-section of the dem base that was represented, pretty much reflected the state’s demographic and Obama won, with Richardson placing second and Clinton in third.
This has me thinking that Clinton may be in trouble with the rank and file and that Obama may pull off a win in AZ.
Thoughts.
