No Thanks, I’d Rather Have an Enema

I recieved an invite to a fundraiser for Russell Pearce that will be held on the 17th. For $100 you can go to dinner, or, for $200 you can go to a special reception:

Private Photo Hors D’Oeuvres Reception with Sheriff Joe Arpaio, County Attorney Andrew Thomas and Bruce Jacobs of KFYI. This private reception includes a photo with Me, the Sheriff , Andrew Thomas and Bruce Jacobs. Imagine getting a photo with you, the greatest Sheriff in America , Andrew Thomas, Bruce Jacobs of KFYI, and myself to hang on your wall at home. What an opportunity. You really don’t want to miss this one.

Gosh. It’s too bad I’ll be out of the state.

NB - Bruce Jacobs, according to his KFYI page, refers to Senator John McCain as “Lettuce and McStain” and Governor Janet Napolitano as “Crappy Nappy.” Oh, and in a blow for “family values,” refers to the “pussification” of America. Right wing talk…keeping the dialogue elevated.

  • Good lord, I would almost pay that for the photo! My friends would get the biggest kick out of seeing me sandwhiched between Sherrif Joe and Russell Pearce!!!!!

  • Can you get them to waterboard you at a discounted rate?

  • I will admit that the “pussification of America” made me laugh. That’s rare. Almost all of the humor is on the left.

  • There’s a lot to be said for enemas. In fact, I think Russell and Sheriff Joe would both be a lot more agreeable and less angry all the time if they’d go get themselves a good colonic every now and then. It’s really very good for the soul.

  • The dinner’s $100, the special reception’s $200, and the enema’s $350. (Or it’s free, if you’re in Tent City)

  • Once again, truth trumps fiction.

  • Who would pay to watch Pearce, Arpaio, and Thomas give each other enemas? That would be a real special reception.

  • Jacobs puts the stew in stupid, he tells his listeners not to read the newspaper (”leave the rag on the rack”), not to read books (”that Goyette guy thinks he’s better than us, cause he’s read a book I didn’t read”), and to get all their information from right wing talk radio. You have to hear it to believe it (unless, of course, you are part of that librul elite that reads stuff like books and newspapers). Sadly stupid sells, his rating are quite good for early morning radio in the Phx area.

  • Making a move to the blogs of the dark side, allow me to comment….no fan of Mr. Pearce or our Sheriff, I’ll pass. My time in Republican politics has offered me several photo ops. The best are the ones that are free because you were actually somewhere, doing something, not PAYING for the recorded documentation of the day.

  • Ann: Welcome. As you know I enjoy your insights.

PS - it’s only dark over here until you see the light of day.

PS - I agree with you re photo ops. I’m always amused by people who put these pictures in their office, thinking it will impress someone.

  • I think Russell Pearce is ghetto fabulous!

  • Does anyone not see the parallel between the fanatical right-wing rhetoric and the 1930’s in Germany as Adolf Hitler used Jews as a scapegoat and rose to power, uniting all of the impotent and ignorant, dressing them in a uniform and declaring the Third Reich? These Republicans who scream “less government” are really looking for “their government” and that is very scary. Moderates and liberals need to unite and raise our voices or we won’t be able to in the future. These people (Arpaio, Thomas, Pearce) are out and out scary!
