Barackin’ in the Free World
The first Democratic presidential candidate has opened up an office in Tucson. Barack Obama’s Tucson office is at 4500 E Speedway, Suite 25-26. Not the best place for street frontage, but so far, this is the only campaign with paid staff in Southern Arizona. This is pretty remarkable, given that only a few months ago the talk was Obama would have no staff on the ground in our state at all.
The location is near Swan, which puts it walking distance from Pima County Democratic Headquarters. If Things for Thinkers hadn’t closed a couple of years ago, they would have been neighbors. Now, Obama supporters will have to look elsewhere for their Warhammer figures.

Although I’m very happy that the Obama campaign decided to do this, I wanted to comment and say thanks for mentioning Things for Thinkers. I hadn’t thought about that place in years, and just reading about it brought back a flood of memories from my time spent in that back room playing Magic and D&D.

Things for Thinkers was a terrific store, and Bill Winski was a terrific guy. Too bad he sold the store and moved to Denver to open one … hopefully life is treating him well.

Things for Thinkers was a great store. But I remember it best from its original location at El Con Mall.
Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
