Something I’ve Been Meaning to Post
My friend Kevin Spidel sent me an alert about this one a few days ago. He used to work for the PDA, now he works with a fella named Rev. Lennox Yearwood. Yearwood was going to observe the testimony of Gen. David Petraeus, his right along with the rest of us. Here is what happened next.
The stupid part is that other than asking why he was being singled out for going into the hearing, what reason did the police have to restrain him in the manner they did? The only thing I can figure is that they thought he was dangerous, that clerical colar and all. They couldn’t have picked him out for any other reason, right?
The stupid part about it is that the hearing was still disrupted by members of CodePink. They spent so much time trying to tackle the Reverend I guess they didn’t notice the women in pink that they were letting in.
Spidel has been keeping a running update on his blog. Yearwood sustained a broken leg, but will be charged with assaulting a police officer.

while it was retarded to rush the police officers like that, it was a way over-reaction to break his leg in the process. These are trained police officers. 8 or 9 trained officers cannot take down a single man without breaking his leg? Those officers should face a certification review.

Thanks for the post. Tom… if you look at the video.. he walked past the cops to get in and subsequently tripped over one of their legs. He didn’t rush… he tripped.

its hard to tell, but if he tripped its even worse. Im sure there are other cameras. he should def sue civilly if thats what happened, as a multi angled thing will prove all of what happened and they will try and settle out of court.
Not cool at all. If that is what happened, then those officers shame\disgrace to the rest of the officers serving with them.
